When to use a 3-minute timer

Short timers like 3 minutes are great for breaking inertia. Commit to just 3 minutes of a task — most of the time you'll keep going past the bell.

How to run it

  1. Pick ONE task. Write it down.
  2. Open Promodify, set the focus length to 3 minutes.
  3. Phone in another room. Start the timer.
  4. When the bell rings, stop. Take a proportional break.
