When to use a 13-minute timer

Short timers like 13 minutes are great for breaking inertia. Commit to just 13 minutes of a task — most of the time you'll keep going past the bell.

How to run it

  1. Pick ONE task. Write it down.
  2. Open Promodify, set the focus length to 13 minutes.
  3. Phone in another room. Start the timer.
  4. When the bell rings, stop. Take a proportional break.
