When to use a 10-minute timer

Short timers like 10 minutes are great for breaking inertia. Commit to just 10 minutes of a task — most of the time you'll keep going past the bell.

How to run it

  1. Pick ONE task. Write it down.
  2. Open Promodify, set the focus length to 10 minutes.
  3. Phone in another room. Start the timer.
  4. When the bell rings, stop. Take a proportional break.
